Now the Largest Dow Facility to Receive LEED

LAKE JACKSON, TEXAS The Dow Texas Innovation Center Campus, designed by Kirksey Architecture, held a LEED Ceremony on Monday, February 26, to celebrate their R&D buildings receiving LEED Gold. The entire campus is now LEED Gold Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, making it the largest Dow facility to receive LEED. The project also ranks highest among Texas labs, with 17 points in the LEED Energy and Atmosphere category.

On Monday, Dow held a private LEED plaque ceremony and invited members of the press to tour the new facilities, labs and amenities building.

  • A.N. Sreeram, Senior Vice President, Research & Development and Chief Technology Officer, The Dow Chemical Company
  • Paul De Pree, Director - WorkPlace Services Program Management Office and Expertise Center, The Dow Chemical Company
  • Rich Wells, Vice President Operations US Gulf Coast and Site Director Texas Operations, The Dow Chemical Company
  • Bill Yenne, City Manager, City of Lake Jackson
The Herbert H. Dow Research and Development Building houses 56 labs and approximately 400 employees. The ground level lobby in both R&D buildings has a variety of powered seating options to encourage collaboration and support a welcoming coffee bar and point-of-sale grab-n-go area. Formal and informal meeting areas are located close to the labs to encourage collaboration, becoming integral to the daily process of the researchers and lab technicians.
